RISE BUSINESS LINKS
A number of local businesses have benefited from the work-based learning opportunities available to them via the RISE initiative. Companies benefit from offering work based learning through increased business productivity and performance; a more confident workforce; an opportunity to develop the skills base of staff and tackle any shortages that have been identified and, overall, improve the morale of the workforce.
RISE has organised various courses for local businesses including I.T. qualifications, Essential Skills, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety to name a few. If we cannot organise the course you are looking for we can often signpost to a provider who can. We can also access funding for the delivery of some courses or provide training at minimum cost.
The delivery of training is flexible to minimise the disruption to businesses: delivery can be in-house, if facilities allow, or local businesses can make use of the network of 31 RISE centres throughout Torfaen.
It is essential that the local workforce has the required skills to meet the commercial aims and objectives of the business sector. This means investing in employees to improve their skills and build their confidence so that we have a workforce with a wider skill base to achieve economic regeneration
